Album Description
With the release of its 11th studio album Revelation, Third Day's Mac Powell, Tai Anderson, Mark Lee and David Carr have hit new heights as Christian music's premiere rock band. Recorded in Los Angeles, the first time Third Day has worked on a project outside of the South, Third Day's signature rock sounds gets an infusion of new energy thanks to the band's new collaboration with producer by Howard Benson (Daughtry, Flyleaf, Hoobastank, P.O.D.).

With his heart on his sleeve, frontman and principal lyricist Mac Powell gives voice to the emotions all believers feel as they attempt to reconcile everyday struggles with the hope born of salvation. Songs like "Run To You," "Born Again," "This Is Who I Am," and the first single, "Call My Name" are like musical stepping stones on the band's creative journey. The result is a new chapter in Third Day's story; it is truly a musical revelation.

Album Description
Third Day opens hearts and minds with the album Revelation. This Third Day's project kicks off with vocalist Mac Powell declaring 'I'm the son of a good man/I'm the child of an angel,' you don't get the sense the statement is necessarily autobiographical. It's personal yet universal; a reflection of man's never-ending search for his identity. This is their 11th studio album and the band has hit new heights as Christian music's premiere rock band. Recorded in L.A., the first time Third Day has worked on a project outside of the South, Third Day's signature rock sounds gets an infusion of new energy thanks to the band's new collaboration with producer by Howard Benson (Daughtry, Flyleaf, Hoobastank, P.O.D.).

5 out of 5 stars Third Day's "Revelation"   July 29, 2008

After three long years, the wait is finally over. Third Day is back with "Revelation", their first album of all new material since 2005's "Wherever You Are" and their first following the departure of long-time guitarist Brad Avery (this is his final album with the band despite not being credited as an official band member).
Musically and lyrically, "Revelation" is loaded with all of the elements that make Third Day who they are. Their unmistakable Southern rock style is heard throughout the entire CD and singer Mac Powell's voice is still full of grit and passion. Above and beyond the music, Third Day's powerful Christian message and lyrics of uplifting hope and encouragement cut straight to the heart especially in the songs "Call My Name", "Let Me Love You" and "Take It All".
"Revelation" also has some notable guest apperances from Chris Daughtry who sings backup on "Slow Down", Flyleaf's lead singer Lacey Moesely on "Run To You" and "Born Again" and steel guitar extraordinaire Robert Randolph who plays a mouth-dropping solo on "Otherside".
With all this said, if you've enjoyed the music of Third Day in the past, you'll definitely love "Revelation". This is one of their strongest albums to date and definitely shows Third Day at their very best.
Truly a Revelation indeed!!!

5 out of 5 stars Another Gem By Third Day   August 3, 2008

Third Day has been one of the premiere bands in Christian music for many years. In 'Revelation' they have put together another great album.

It is an album with great rock music, a solid Christian message, and superb vocals. Along with Mac Powell's trademark voice, this one features two songs that also contain the singing of Flyleaf's Lacey Moseley. Although they seem like an odd pairing at first due to such different styles, the combined effect certainly works well.

There are many very good songs on this CD. Some of my favorites include the following: Call My Name, Run To You, Revelation, Slow Down, Born Again, and Take It All. There are no bad songs in this collection.

I would srongly recommend this for any fan of rock and/or contemporary Christian music.

I hopped on Third Day's bus after the first Offerings album and have purchased every album since with the exception of Live Wire, which I have yet to buy. That being said, Revelation is an absolute must for fans of this band. The CD somewhat reminds me of Wire but this time TD sticks to their guns with a clearly Christian message in almost every song. I wasn't sure how Revelation would be without Brad Avery, but it does not disappoint. According to the band's website and the thank you's in the album, Avery still helped with Revelation. As a Daughtry fan as well, I was a bit disappointed in the minimizing of the use of Chris's vocals in "Slow Down"- he mostly just serves as background vocals- but the song is still very good. Flyleaf's Lacey Mosely also lends a hand in "Run to You", one of my favorites from the album, and also on "Born Again." Robert Randolph's phenomenal steel guitar also appears on "Otherside." Every song is exceptional, with the only weak point in my mind being "Give Love." "Revelation" was also a pleasant surprise as the rest of the song sounds quite different than the :30 previews, and "Let Me Love You" is another of my favorites. Oh, and then there's the #1 hit, "Call My Name", which I feel is very similar to Wherever You Are's "Cry Out to Jesus." Very nicely done, TD!

As a follower of Third Day since they played in our fellowship hall for $500, I think this album delivers!! These guys are so real and their relationship with Christ continues to be evident in their songs. What an inspiration they are and not at all surprised how blessed they've been. Third Day is proof enough that you can walk on water if you keep your eyes on Jesus! buy it...this one will have as many chart toppers if not more than the last.

I have been listening to this new cd for a couple of months now. It was available by a live feed when you pre-ordered it. Revelation has already become my favorite cd of all time and I don't even have it yet! The lyrics inspire, the music is top notch and the variety of songs guarantee that there is something for everyone. Third Day should be amazingly proud of this effort. Thank you God for the talent you gave these fine Christian men.
